Director – Carolina Henao, was born and raised in Colombia. She earned a Bachelor Degree from Emerson College in 1998 and worked 8 years in the advertising industry before finding her passion in the healing field. She has studied and traveled with Deepak Chopra & Swami Sitaramananda. Carolina completed her yoga teacher training with Terri Cooper and is currently studying crystal therapy healing at the Crystal Academy for Advanced Healing Arts. Carolina is an energy healer, certified yoga and meditation teacher, and has a deep passion for teaching our children how to lead a mindful life. Having two children of her own, and realizing how humbling and challenging it is to be responsible for the spiritual, physical and mental development of a human being, she is eager to share with Yoga Gangsters what she has learned through yoga, meditation, mindfulness and Ayurveda so that our kids can make more conscious choices and feel empowered no matter what.

Director – Hera Zee’s,  journey into Yoga and Meditation began in 2001 while in college. Seeking a more “well-balanced” lifestyle, she enrolled herself in an immersion course for Yoga and Meditation.  She soon began to share what she learned, and Yoga quickly became a way of life for her and those around her.  As a lover of travel and all things education, Hera chose to pursue her Masters degree in Teaching Foreign Languages, graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2005.

While teaching high school, she found that many of her students struggled immensely with societal pressures, both in school and at home.  She recognized a great need for her students to have access to the tools necessary to thrive in life, to connect with one another, improve their self esteem and make wiser decisions…all of the tools she received through Yoga. Wanting to share these tools with a broader community in 2010 Hera was inspired to become a certified Yoga instructor.

Soon after, she founded The Yoga Treehouse®, a place where she could share her love for all things Yoga. Known for her playfulness and creativity, Hera Zee is a Certified PiYo® and Yoga Instructor, LifeStyle Trainer and Health & Fitness Coach. Hera’s passion is to give from the heart.  It is her belief that everyone should have tools to live life to its fullest and she has dedicated her life to sharing those tools with others.
